INSTRUMENTAL METHODS FOR DETERMINATION OF NONMACROCYCLIC TRICHOTHECENES IN CEREALS, FOODSTUFFS AND CULTURES

An overview of the most important methods for determination of nonmacr ocyclic trichothecenes (type A and B) in cereals, food/feedstuffs and solid cultures is presented. Various extraction, clean-up, and derivat ization procedures, along with instrumental methods currently in use a re reviewed. Possibilities and limitations of gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, and supercritical fluid chromatogra phy in analysis of trichothecenes are discussed, including various det ection techniques.
