In this paper, the mixed modifiers in the determination of tin by GFAA
S were studied. The mechanisms of tin stabilized by two modifiers were
inquired using X-ray diffraction analysis. The two modifiers can incr
ease charring temperature up to 1 400 degrees C and 1 350 degrees C, r
espectively. Mg(NO3)(2) would form a higher background absorption in t
he. determination process for tin. It has more advantages to use Ni+Vc
, such as extremely increasing charring temperature, improving the det
ermination sensitivity, decreasing the background absorption and the m
atrix interference. The measured results for the stream sediment sampl
es are consistent with the certified value.
