Abstract
The kinetics of reaction between Tb3+ and human oxyhemoglobin was inve stigated by means of stopped-flow fluorometry, The Tb3+ ions quenched the intrinsic fluorescence of oxyhemoglobin within the first 100 ms. T he rate constant of the reaction at various temperature and activation parameters were obtained. The results indicate that Tb3+ binding to o xyhemoglobin is attributed to the second order reaction. The mechanism of the reaction was explored.
