Angular distributions of differential cross-section and vector analyzi
ng power have been measured for the Mg-26(Li-6 over arrow pointing rig
ht, He-6)Al-26 reaction, populating four states in Al-26, at an incide
nt energy of 60 MeV. Distorted-wave Born approximation (DWBA) calculat
ions were performed for the (Li-6 over arrow pointing right, He-6) pro
cess using shell-model spectroscopic amplitudes and microscopic form f
actors derived from the M3Y interaction. Sequential contributions to t
he charge-exchange reaction mechanism via the (Li-6 over arrow pointin
g right,Li-7)(Li-7, He-6) and (Li-6 over arrow pointing right, Li-7)(
Li-7, He-6) processes were calculated using the coupled-channels Born
approximation (CCBA). The effects of inelastic couplings in Li-6 were
also examined.
