The absolute cross section of the He-3(n, gamma)He-4 reaction was meas
ured at five energies between E(n) = 0.14-2.0 MeV to an accuracy of ap
proximately +/- 10%. The approximately 21 MeV gamma rays produced in a
He-3 gas target were detected at 90-degrees with respect to the beam
direction. The results are discussed in light of previous measurements
of the two-body photodisintegration of He-4.
