Abstract
The two-step synthesis of 3-(2-pyridyldithio)propionic acid is describ ed, which includes the chlorination of 2,2'-dipyridyl disulfide with s ulfuryl chloride and the reaction of the formed 2-pyridylsulfenyl chlo ride with 3-mercaptopropionic acid.
