By means of the boundary disturbance source method, the scattered held
from a two-dimensional periodic arbitrary corrugated waveguide is inv
estigated. A scattered electromagnetic field expression and a Bragg sc
attering condition about TE and TM modes are found. As an example, the
scattered field from a one-dimensional arbitrary corrugated waveguide
in the axial direction is considered based on the general results. Th
e characteristics of the Bragg reflector, mode converter, selective re
sonator and so on can be derived by using the results obtained in this
paper.
