The fatty acid composition of liver microsome lipids was studied in a
strict carnivorous as the cat and compared to an omnivorous, the rat,
and herbivorous, as the guinea pig and the lamb. It was found that in
spite of different feeding habits their compositions were rather simil
ar. However; some differences were found specially with the essential
n-6 fatty acids. The phospholipidic composition of liver microsomes of
cat, rat and lamb is very similar. Phosphatidylcholine predominates i
n all of them.
