Parathelandros anolis Chitwood, 1934, Pharyngodon anolis (Chitwood, 19
34) sensu Acholonu (1976), and Spauligodon caymanensis Bursey and Gold
berg, 1995 have been reexamined from Anolis lizards (Polychrotidae) of
the Caribbean. Study of the male caudal structures and of the egg dem
onstrate that these names represent a single species. The specimens ar
e assigned to Spauligodon anolis (Chitwood, 1934) n. comb. Spauligodon
caymanensis is considered a junior subjective synonym of S. anolis.
