Abstract
Spiroxys hanzaki n. sp. (Nematoda: Gnathostomatidae) taken from the gi ant salamander, Andrias japonicus (Temminck, 1836) (Caudata: Cryptobra nchidae) from Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, is described. It closely resemb les Spiroxys allegheniensis Walton, 1930, from the hellbender, Cryptob ranchus alleganiensis (Daudin, 1803) (Cryptobranchidae), of North Amer ica, in that it has minute dorsal and ventral lobes of the pseudolabiu m and a reduced gubernaculum but is readily distinguished by a pseudol abium with 2 apical, 1 dorsal, and 1 ventral tooth on the median lobe.
