The spectral analysis of three-times ionized krypton, Kr IV, was exten
ded to include 3, 12, 7, 8 and 20 new level values of the configuratio
ns 4s(2)4p(2)5s, 4s(2)4p(2)4d, 4s(2)4p(2)6s, 4s(2)4p(2)5d and 4s(2)4p(
2)5p, respectively. Five known level values of the even configurations
were redesignated and four levels were rejected. The observed configu
rations were interpreted theoretically by means of Hartree-Fock relati
vistic (HFR) calculations and a least-squares fit of the energy parame
ters to the observed levels. Rydberg series configuration interactions
have also been included in the calculations.
