Abstract
Animal models of human autoimmune disease suggest that it should be po
ssible to reinduce self-tolerance in these conditions by the use of T-
cell directed therapies, in particular with anti-CD4 monoclonal antibo
dies (CD4-mAb). Many studies have shown that CD4-mAb can prevent and i
n a treatment setting suppress activity of these disease models, inclu
ding collagen-induced arthritis.
