Abstract
The interaction of diethylamine and morpholine with diphenyl, methyl p henyl, ethyl phenyl, and isopropyl phenyl sulfites was studied. It was established that two reactions, substitution and alkylation, can occu r in parallel. Diphenyl sulfites react with amines to give only substi tution products, while other sulfites react with substitution at the s ulfur atom and with alkylation of the amines.
