Abstract
The generation of 2ps transform-limited pulses in a frequency-shifted fibre laser is demonstrated. Pulses trapped by the edge of the gain sp ectrum of the amplifier result in stable generation, thus excluding th e need for bandpass filter-limiting pulse shortening.
