Abstract
Efficient enantiomer separation by pressure-assisted, micro-packed cap illary electrochromatography (CEC) has been carried out using a permet hyl-beta-cyclodextrin-modified silica support (PM-beta-CD-silica). Whe n comparing this method with micro-packed-high-performance liquid chro matography in the single-column-mode, CEC displays higher column effic iencies (about three times higher theoretical plate numbers at compara ble elution times). The pressure support (about 10 bar), applied to av oid bubble formation, has a negligible influence on elution times in C EC. The influence of the type and composition of organic modifiers is described. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
