A series of novel mixed-ligand complexes of copper(II) of the composit
ions [Cu((o) under bar-haph)(2)(L)(2)], where (o) under bar-haphH = (o
) under bar-hydroxyacetophenone end L = benzothiazole, 2-methylbenzoth
iazole, 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole, 2-(2 '-tolyl)benzothiazole
or 2-(3'-tolyl)benzothiazole, and [Cu((o) under bar-haph)(2)(AMBZT)],
where AMBZT = 2-aminobenzothiazole, have been prepared by the interact
ion of [Cu((o) under bar-haph)(2)] . H2O with the ligands. The compoun
ds so obtained ware characterized by analytical data, molar conductanc
es, magnetic measurements, electron paramagnetic resonance and infrare
d spectral studies. Suitable octahedral structures have been proposed
for these complexes.
