Cell adhesion is essential for the regulation of many cellular functio
ns. The adhesion molecule plays a critical role as a fundamental subst
ance in various processes of reproduction such as trophoblast-endometr
ial interaction. Our understanding of the physiology of adhesion molec
ules will be helpful for clinical application of these molecules in th
e treatment and assessment of disorders of many processes of reproduct
ion. We will briefly review integrins, cadherins, and laminin, which w
ere the principal subjects of discussion in this conference.
