T. Wittlinger et al., ACUTE CORONARY-ARTERY PERFORATION AFTER PERCUTANEOUS TRANSLUMINAL ANGIOPLASTY WITH SHUNT IN THE RIGHT VENTRICLE, Zeitschrift fur Kardiologie, 87(7), 1998, pp. 553-559
A coronary artery perforation is a rare complication after percutaneou
s transluminal coronary angioplasty. The therapy will be determined by
the hemodynamic failure of the left or right ventricle. A case of a c
oronary artery perforation with a shunt from the right coronary artery
to the right ventricle after coronary angioplasty is reported. The sh
unt was detected by coronary angiography and confirmed by magnetic res
onance imaging and doppler echocardiography.
