Ionisation of hydrogen atoms in ground and metastable 2s states by imp
act of protons and antiprotons has been studied at collision energies
varying from 10 to 1566 keV/amu. Total and double differential cross s
ections are calculated employing a final continuum state wave function
which incorporates distortion due to the Coulomb fields of both the p
rojectile and the target nuclei The present calculated results are com
pared with the existing experimental findings as well as other theoret
ical predictions.
