Abstract
A new species of terebratellid brachiopod, Calloria variegata, is desc ribed from rocky, subtidal habitats in the Hauraki Gulf, northern New Zealand. The distribution and ecology of C. variegata are compared wit h the closely related C. inconspicua, and a detailed description of th e new species, including loop development, is provided.
