Abstract
Patients with liver disease experience alterations in the sense of tas te. There is increasing evidence to suggest that some of the symptoms associated, vith liver disease (e.g., pruritus) are mediated in the bra in. A hypothesis for a brain-mediated mechanism underlying taste alter ations in hepatic disorders is presented in this paper, (Am J Gastroen terol 1998;93:1209-121.0. (C) 1998 by Am. Coll. of Gastroenterology).
