We report a case of a patient with life-threatening hemorrhage caused
by the presence of acquired factor VIII inhibitors after gastrectomy f
or signet-ring cell carcinoma of the stomach. Acquired factor VIII inh
ibitors should be taken into consideration as a cause of acquired blee
ding tendency among patients with gastrointestinal malignancies especi
ally when the coagulation tests are unusual, (Am J Gastroenterol 1998;
93: 1372-1373, (C) 1998 by Am, Cell, of Gastroenterology).
