The author analyses the correlations between the most generalized char
acteristics of cognitive activity - intelligence and image-visual thin
king and investigates the changes in these correlations during age-spe
cific development. Special attention is paid to the role of genotypic
factors determining such changes. The results of phenotypic and geneti
c correlations analysis show that image-visual characteristics at pre-
school and junior school age are predictive for later levels of intell
igence development.
