Scientific psychological and rheological approaches to human spiritual
ity are analysed. Principal differences in the interpretation of <<kno
wledge>> and <<truth>> notions in science and religion are shown. The
author argues that not every scientific knowledge is connected with sp
iritual <<I>>, The knowledge becomes spiritual only when it becomes pe
rsonally meaningful. Four basic directions of spirituality investigati
on (the looking for spirituality roots in culture; situative and perso
nal factors of spiritual states origin analysis; the studies of spirit
uality as self-development and self-realization; consideration of spir
ituality as a divine revelation in Christian psychology) are analysed.
