Abstract
On-line assessment of the joint profile with the aid of a specially tr ained neural network can be used for qualitative prediction of the mec hanical seam properties of vibration-welded thermoplastic parts. In ap plications with complex geometries, the amount of time-intensive and c ostly subsequent testing of the finished parts can be significantly re duced.
