We have studied multiphoton ionization and autoionization in atomic si
licon using a configuration interaction Hartree-Fock-Dirac method (CIH
FD). We have obtained new results for part of the autoionization spect
rum as well as photoionization cross sections at a laser frequency of
0.121 au into three open continua. This information provides a startin
g point for further theoretical development as well as a basis for som
e initial experimental comparison in such complex atomic systems with
presently available lasers.
