FROM LABORATORY MEASUREMENT TO CONTINUOUS ONLINE MEASUREMENTS OF RADIATIVE PROPERTIES OF STEEL SHEETS

The proper control of many steel plant processes requires the knowledg e of the radiative properties of industrial products under the product ion line conditions. Different methods used in the laboratory for the measurement of these properties are described. An industrial sensor us ing the same physical principle has been developed in view of measurem ents on production lines. Results of absorptivity measurements on stee l strips are presented. They show the influence on absorptivity and he ating kinetics during annealing of the surface pollution of the strips .
