The aim of the present work is to describe how we have built a pulsed
discharge lamp suitable for atomic spectroscopy and, hence, for atomic
parameters measurements, such as transition probabilities or Stark wi
dths and shifts. The main features of this source are its high symmetr
y, homogeneity and stability with a cylindrical geometry. All this mak
es it very adequate to plasma diagnostics. We show two maps with the s
pat:al and temporal distribution cf the electron density and temperatu
re in a pure Helium pulsed plasma. After this, the main conclusion is
the absence of strong gradients in both plasma parameters.
