Abstract
Tn some cases saturation of a surface bq alloying elements with the us e of laser treatment provides unique structures with a novel set of pr operties. Processes of laser alloying after which the heat treatment o f the pairs is unnecessary present a special interest. Laser boronizin g is one such process.
