Abstract
The mechanisms and stages of sulfide corrosion cracking of structural steels containing nonmetallic inclusions of a round (oxisulfides) and extended (sulfides) shape under a load are studied. The sizes of the r egions of quasi-brittle fracture near nonmetallic inclusions, of the r egions of the zones of plastic deformation under fracture surfaces, an d of the fractal sizes of fracture profiles are estimated.
