Yc. Shin et Aj. Waters, FRAMEWORK OF A MACHINING ADVISORY SYSTEM WITH APPLICATION TO FACE MILLING PROCESSES, Journal of intelligent manufacturing, 9(3), 1998, pp. 225-234
A unique advisory system is developed for machining processes. It is u
nique in using analytical and simulation models for the induction of r
ules, rules which must otherwise be generated from experiments. These
rules are combined with heuristic rules for inferring optimal machinin
g parameters. The utility and accuracy of the process models are illus
trated and the architecture of the advisory system is described. Also
described are its capability to incorporate other application programs
through functions, regardless of the programming language, and to add
ress constraints in decision making. Face milling is described as a sp
ecific application.
