Abstract
The steady state of the driven oscillations of the system consisting o f N oscillators coupled by friction is considered. It is shown that fo r large values of N this state is asymptotically described by the F-fu nction previously introduced in the theory of resonant magnetohydrodyn amic (MHD) waves in plasmas.
