Da. Vicic et Wd. Jones, DEEP HYDRODESULFURIZATION IN HOMOGENEOUS SOLUTION - ACCESS TO A TRANSITION-METAL INSERTION COMPLEX OF 4,6-DIMETHYLDIBENZOTHIOPHENE, Organometallics, 17(16), 1998, pp. 3411-3413
Alkylated dibenzothiophenes are among the most difficult compounds to
desulfurize in the hydroprocessing of crude oil, and information leadi
ng to their efficient removal is of tremendous value. Homogeneous nick
el and platinum complexes were found to desulfurize alkylated dibenzot
hiophenes in the solution phase proceeding through well-characterized
transition-metal insertion complexes.
