Abstract
We demonstrate simultaneous delivery of four independent digital broad cast television services over a wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) passive optical network (PON) by spectrally slicing erbium-doped fibe r-amplified light-emitting diodes. The composite bandwidth of 2 GHz ca rries more than 320 channels of digital television, and is delivered i ndependently of private point-to-point services, which are possible ov er the WDM PON architecture. The effects of misalignment between the t ransmitter and receiver optical filters are studied for the WDM PON an d for a standard passive splitter PON.
