TECHNICAL AND ECONOMICAL CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT WIND ENERGY EXPLOITATION IN THE LIGURIAN AREA

New wind measurements in two AMIU stations near the Scarpino landfill are presented and elaborated in order to estimate the energy content o f the wind stream there and to compare them with the available data co ncerning other Ligurian sites. Then the cost of wind energy in Italy i s discussed taking into account the most recent developments. The econ omical return of a wind power station is estimated by calculating the energy output of widely diffused commercial turbines if installed in a Ligurian site quite rich of wind resource.
