WIND AND TRAIN DRIVEN AIR MOVEMENTS IN TRAIN STATIONS

The paper presents data of investigations into the air movement in thr ee new train stations in Germany. Sophisticated energy concepts have b een worked out for these stations which make in-depth flow studies nec essary. The wind- and train-induced air movement inside the stations w as investigated. Means to control the air movement and in particular t o prevent excessive air infiltration into the train stations were prop osed and will be discussed in this paper. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Lt d.
