SOLUBILITY AND LIPOPHILICITY TESTS OF COPPER(II) COMPLEXES OF THE ESSENTIAL AMINO-ACIDS

Solubility tests of copper(ll) complexes with amino acids, of potentia l pharmacologic interest, were performed using a series of twelve solv ents with dielectric constants ranging between 111 and 2.24. The lipop hilicity of these complexes were also tested, determining their partit ion coefficients between physiologic solution and n-octanol. For those complexes containing water of crystallization, the stability of the h ydrates was determined from thermogravimetric measurements.
