It has been studied the celestite and calcite flotation in a Hallimond
thermostatted tube at 203 and 323 K, using Sodium Dodecylsulfonate (S
DS) as collector and sodium silicate as depressant. Pure minerals with
a size between 117 and 149 mu m have been used. The results obtained
show that the existence of sodium silicate has similar influence on bo
th minerals, although depressant effect on calcite is higher, in parti
cular at high concentrations of seriously acid flotation agent and bat
hs.
