THE APPLICATION OF THE MICROWAVE EXTRACTION TO THE ANALYSIS OF THE ACCELERATORS IN A RUBBER FORMULATION

Elastomeric mixtures vulcanization consists of the sulphur bonding bet ween the polimer chains. The characteristic elastic properties of this kind of materials is due to the formation of this three-dimensional n et work. The study and characterization of the vulcanization reaction becomes difficult because of the unyielding nature of the vulcanized r ubber samples. In the present article a new method is used to extract the intermediate compounds by a microwave oven. This technique decreas es considerably the time of analysis, as well as allows a better tempe rature control to avoid the decomposition of the substances to be anal yzed.
