Elastomeric mixtures vulcanization consists of the sulphur bonding bet
ween the polimer chains. The characteristic elastic properties of this
kind of materials is due to the formation of this three-dimensional n
et work. The study and characterization of the vulcanization reaction
becomes difficult because of the unyielding nature of the vulcanized r
ubber samples. In the present article a new method is used to extract
the intermediate compounds by a microwave oven. This technique decreas
es considerably the time of analysis, as well as allows a better tempe
rature control to avoid the decomposition of the substances to be anal
yzed.
