Abstract
The paper will outline the thermally-excited-capillary-wave model for the liquid-vapour interface, and then discuss some factors which are n eglected which may well be important when comparing with experiment. T o learn about the properties of capillary waves in thin liquid layers we have made a study of the propagation of waves up an inclined beach and preliminary results of this study will be described.
