Abstract
The first total synthesis of NPTX-5 and NPTX-6, Joro spider (Nephila c lavata) toxins having a 4-hydroxyindole nucleus and a unique putreanin e trimer and tetramer acylpolyamine chain, respectively, has been achi eved by the iterative use of a key azide compound.
