Z. Ormos et L. Tolgyesi, HYDRODYNAMIC STUDY OF GRANULATOR DISCS II - RESIDENCE TIME DISTRIBUTION AND AXIAL MIXING IN A 2-CASCADE EQUIPMENT, Hungarian journal of industrial chemistry, 26(2), 1998, pp. 105-108
The authors have investigated the residence tune distribution of grain
s in a continuously operating two-cascade granulator disc by feeding (
impulse disturbance) of marked (coloured) substances. They have determ
ined the function between the virtual, the C-function based and the re
duced average (mean) residence times, and the mixing coefficient as a
function of disc rotation speed at two different axial angles, with pa
rticular regard to bed conditions on the outer disc. They have shown t
hat in the second cascade the mixing of particles is considerably less
intensive than on the inner disc. Furthermore they indicate that ther
e is a significant difference in substance segregation and process app
lication between the two cascades, which are separated by a deflector
ring.
