THE FIRST EXAMPLE OF A DOUBLE BRIDGED DIRUTHENIUM(II) COMPLEX CONTAINING THE RARE BRIDGING S,O BIDENTATE DIMETHYL-SULFOXIDE LIGAND WHICH DEFINES A STABLE RU-CL-RU-S-O 5-MEMBERED RING
S. Geremia et al., THE FIRST EXAMPLE OF A DOUBLE BRIDGED DIRUTHENIUM(II) COMPLEX CONTAINING THE RARE BRIDGING S,O BIDENTATE DIMETHYL-SULFOXIDE LIGAND WHICH DEFINES A STABLE RU-CL-RU-S-O 5-MEMBERED RING, Journal of the Chemical Society. Dalton transactions, (15), 1998, pp. 2447-2448
The diruthenium(II) complex [Ru-2(mu-Cl)(mu-Me2SO-S, O)Cl-3(Me2SO-S)(3
)(CO)(2)] has been synthesized from cis,fac-[RuCl2(Me2SO)(3)(CO)] in r
efluxing acetone and characterized by X-ray crystallography; unusual s
olution (H-1 and C-13 NMR) and solid-state (IR) spectral features were
found for the bridging sulfoxide, besides a remarkable inertness towa
rds substitution reactions.
