The metal matrix composites (MMCs) consist of a metallic matrix and a
reinforcing phase, which can take one of several morphologies includin
g continuous or discontinuous fibres, whiskers particulates. Although
many different technologies of MMCs production have been developed to
date, there are still a lot of problems, which have to be solved in be
tter way. Especially critical are wettability, adhesion and chemical b
onding at the interface matrix-reinforcing phase and attainable reinfo
rcing fraction. In this paper a model of production technique ''Synthe
sis of semisolid mixtures'', for fabrication of particle reinforced MM
Cs in presented. The proposed processing route solves both, the proble
m of wettability as well as the problem of the reinforcing phase fract
ion variation in the composite.
