Abstract
The macromycota of an evergreen cloud forest was described using a sim ple method, intended to minimize taxonomic work but still provide an a ccurate account of diversity. The method showed that the fungal commun ity in the area is spatially structured and that area sampled limited the recording of fungal richness in this study. Parameters derived fro m the Clench equation suggest that an area of I ha will maximize the p roportion of recorded taxa and minimize sampling effort.
