We study the effect of noise-reduction methods in the Family model. Th
e surface width oscillates up to time t(c), which depends on the noise
reduction parameter m as t(c) similar to m(delta) where delta is the
damping exponent. delta is found to be determined by the growth expone
nt beta and the dynamic exponent z characterizing the kinetic rougheni
ng phenomena. By measuring the surface currents and the damage spreadi
ng distances, we find how the diffusion coefficient nu depends on m. A
lso, two different noise-reduction methods are discussed.
