Abstract
Two species of bamboo, Bambusa vulgaris and Gigantochloa apus, were us ed to evaluate of age and culm bud position on vegetative on. Variable s: 1.-Size of main shoot of each seed (vegetative reproduction). 2.- N umber of nudes with shooted buds by parcel. 3.-Number of shoots by par cel capable of growth after transplantation. 4.-Number of nudes with r oots. Complete at random with eight factorialy fixed treatments and th ree repetitions. Age affects the evaluated parameters of Gigantochloa apus, confirming three years as the best age.
