Abstract
Recently, an attempt to evaluate substantially the situation for Z = 6 3 to 83 nuclei by the combination of the experimental and the theoreti cal (n, 4n) reaction cross-section values in the energy range from 26 to 30 MeV, the cross-sections dependence on the neutron excess (N-Z) a nd (En + Qn) (where N and Z are target nucleus neutron and proton numb ers; En and Qn are the incident neutron energy and (n, 4n) reaction en ergy, respectively) has been investigated. This approach in this field is formulated. It is seen that the empirical formulae gives good fits with the experimental values. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All righ ts reserved.
