The crystal structure of manganese neodymium oxide, NdMn2O5, has been
solved from a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study. This compound is
isostructural with other members of the TMn2O5 series where T is a ra
re earth. Its structure consists of Mn4+ octahedra [MnO6] in infinite
chains parallel to the c axis linked through Mn3+ tetragonal pyramids
[MnO5] and Nd3+ bicapped antiprisms [MnO8].
