E. Kello et al., STRUCTURE OF DIBENZYLCHLOROTIN(IV) THIOOXINATE, Acta crystallographica. Section C, Crystal structure communications, 49, 1993, pp. 1943-1945
The structure of dibenzylchloro(8-quinolinethiolato-N,S)tin(IV) consis
ts of monomeric trigonal bipyramidal chelate molecules. The two benzyl
C atoms and the thiooxinate S atom occupy equatorial sites; the N ato
m of the bidentate thiooxinate group [Sn-N 2.367(4)Angstrom] and the C
l atom [Sn-Cl 2.475 (2) Angstrom] are axial. The strong Sn-N bond caus
es deformation of the coordination polyhedron and is a consequence of
electronic effects of the thiooxinate group and steric effects of the
benzyl substituents.
